"Go Green Youth Centre has changed my life. It’s one of the few places that offers completely free programs for kids of all ages, and it’s more than just fun activities. It is a place where you feel safe, included, and supported. I used to be lazy and unmotivated, both in school and outside of it. But after joining GGYC as a camper in 2023, everything started to shift. I went from just showing up, to becoming a volunteer, and now a staff member. Along the way, I’ve learned how to lead, take initiative, and believe in myself. GGYC gave me confidence and a purpose, and now, I’m doing better in school, taking on leadership roles, and pushing myself more than ever. Supporting GGYC means helping kids like me find direction, grow, and become something more. Not only will you invest in a non-profit organization, but you will also help countless kids and teenagers find a purpose and gain valuable life lessons and skills they will carry with them for the rest of their lives."
"Go Green Youth Centre is the biggest youth organization in our community, and it helps a lot of people. It gives kids and teens a safe and welcoming place to go where they can learn new things, be active, and connect with others. I had the chance to work at the Go Green summer camp, and I saw how much it means to the kids. Some of them don’t have many other opportunities, but at Go Green, they get to try new activities, make friends, and feel like they belong. Working here taught me a lot too like how to be responsible, how to lead, and how to support others. It made me more confident and showed me how important it is to give back to the community. I truly believe that Go Green is making a big difference in the lives of young people. With more support, Go Green can grow even more and help even more youth reach their potential. “When I was 8, I walked into GGYC not knowing what it was and what it provided - I was just there because my brother was there. Now, over a decade later, I am still part of this incredible initiative because I know exactly what it offers, and how impactful it is for local and foreign community members. GGYC has given many opportunities for community members like me to grow and develop our physical and academic knowledge. It is an honour to be a member of GGYC, and now as a staff, I wish to continue supporting my community members just the way I was once supported!”
"Volunteering at GGYC made me realize how much I love working with kids and how much I enjoy taking to them, getting to know them, and creating a safe environment for them. Due to this, in the future I would love to volunteer at my old elementary schools if I ever get the chance and I want to keep volunteering at GGYC and other places too if I get the chance."
